fell asleep on the bus, and woke up to this in umbria.it is official the end of the world is near. for a region (i am referring to italy) that gets snow every decade or so - we encountered a freak 'snow storm' this morning on the way to Civita di Bagnoregio. the city is considered 'endangered' because it is 'dying.' and by dying i mean, the plateau that is it situated on is being eroded away.
ultimately we were unable to see this place due to the snow, our bus could not travel up the mountain. on the way down we had a few 'near death experiences' with other drivers. okay, i might be exaggerating - but it could definitely happen on the narrow icy roads of italy. but we did have a few near misses with oncoming traffic!

so much for being in the high 50's with a 40% chance of rain.... now i am finishing up packing for spring break. lisbon bound in the AM. SB 2010!!!!
