'butterfingers.'

today (2.8.2010) has been a day of my constantly dropping and/or breaking things. This morning I dropped a tomato at the market and it rolled down the street (after I kicked it of course), then when I was running back to the palace I dropped my metal water bottle and it split on the steps, and then when I was sitting down to each lunch I dropped my bowl of pasta on the table and split it EVERYWHERE (and startled norton in the process and made her spill her coffee on her – sorry nortold!), during afternoon lecture I leaned on the 'desk' part of my chair that had my water glass sitting on it (which you guessed it- resulted in the glass plummeting to the brick floor and literally shattering into a million pieces- DURING LECTURE) and then I dropped my cell phone (don't worry mom it was the italian one – not the iphone) off the loft when I was making my bed...

so overall I have been a complete klutz today.

But I did learn a fun fact in my morning lecture! It was my 'italian lessons' class (think spanish class in high school, we are learning BASIC italian to converse with the non-english speaking people of Ariccia), where I learned that the italian equivalent of 'erika.' in italy that is their translation of the plant heather. So I am now called Ericka in class!

me! in a plant form of course...

GELATO DIARIES:

today (2.8.2010) I sampled a 'green' colored gelato. I thought initially it was lime, but then after I tasted it I thought it tasted more like sprite (a combination of lime and lemon!), and then lil coco ultimately decided it tasted like an airhead. The place we stopped for gelato has had the best texture so far, it is not grainy or really sweet. YUM! I heard that venice has some of the best gelato in italy...so I am really looking forward to this weekend :)

poor light quality.

the gelato is actually a bright cucumber green color - very artificial looking.

french fry pizza with sausage.

very good, they used a white sauce instead of a tomato based one, nice compliment.

Ive been getting a lot out of these lectures, today was a crash course in intalian culture or art history - which was info i already knew.

my doodle masterpiece :)
